Lapidary Museum
Lapidary Museum, which opened its doors to visitors on June 23, 2003, is an important cultural institution that houses a distinguished collection reflecting medieval stone craftsmanship, architecture, and cultural heritage. With its two-story structure and well-organized exhibition layout, the museum also offers a carefully arranged outdoor area that enriches the visitor experience. The architectural design of the museum building forms a harmonious unity with the period artifacts on display, contributing to an atmosphere in which history can be strongly felt. This structure provides both researchers and history enthusiasts the opportunity to make comprehensive observations on medieval stone craftsmanship.
At the heart of the museum’s collection are original stone fragments from the Lusignan Palace, along with architectural elements that reflect the characteristic features of Gothic architecture. These works are of great importance for understanding the aesthetic approach, architectural techniques, and cultural traces left by the Lusignan period. The stone artifacts, preserved from the Middle Ages to the present day, document the art of the period through tangible examples and allow visitors to trace historical continuity.
