Peace and Freedom Museum
The Peace and Freedom Museum, was established in the house where Colonel İbrahim Karaoğlanoğlu, Pilot Major Fehmi Ercan, and Mustafa Girgin were martyred on 20 July 1974. The museum was opened on the second anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, on 20 July 1976, in order to preserve the memory of the operation.
On the ground floor of the museum, visitors can see representative reenactments depicting the events leading up to the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation, including the conflict atmosphere, political developments, and the reasons behind the operation. This floor also displays weapons captured during the operation. The upper floor exhibits the uniforms, personal belongings, and photographs of the martyred Colonel İbrahim Karaoğlanoğlu and Pilot Major Fehmi Ercan, along with the memorabilia of soldiers and resistance fighters who were martyred during the operation. In the inner courtyard, an monumental panel lists the names of all martyrs, while the outdoor area features armored vehicles and heavy weapons abandoned by the Greek Cypriot National Guard.
