The Private Ethnographic Museum of Cyprus
The Private Ethnographic Museum of Cyprus is the first private ethnographic museum in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The museum focuses on the social life of the past 150 years in Cyprus and documents the productive identity of the people by exhibiting traditional crafts and art objects used in everyday life. Through the artifacts in its collection, elements of Cypriot traditional lifestyle and material culture are systematically preserved and presented based on historical sources.
The museum aims to introduce Cypriot life through reconstructions created in line with historical data and serves as a cultural meeting point for local residents, educational institutions, teachers, researchers, and artists. Located in Nicosia, the museum contributes to the preservation and transmission of Cyprus’s cultural heritage and provides reference material for academic studies through its exhibitions and activities.
