morphou Train Station Museum
The Morphou Train Station Museum is located in the Morphou Terminal building, constructed in 1907. It houses photographs, railway maps, and various visuals related to the railway. The Morphou terminal, which operated between 1907 and 1951, was the last station of the second section and the first station of the third section of the Cyprus Government Railways. In addition to the two-story, 2nd-class station building, there were a two-bay locomotive shed, a turntable, and goods sheds; the station building and all the sheds except one have survived to the present day.
The surviving station building, carriage shed, and goods shed were declared a historic monument in 1999. The goods shed, which was in the worst condition, was vacated and restored based on old photographs, with the restoration completed on December 18, 2018. The CMC No. 3 Steam Locomotive from the Morphou Festival Area was moved to the museum site on May 12, 2022, and the fully arranged Train Station Museum opened on May 18, 2022.
